    Richard Harper

    Profile

    Richard Harper has diverse credits in the performing arts including trombone big band recordings (James Jabbo Ware, Fred Ho), baritone horn recordings with reggae artist Bill Laswell, jazz piano records (Makanda Ken McIntrye and Fred Ho), and vocal recordings with Anthony Braxton and Miles Griffith. Regular work has included musical direction for dance (Charles Moore Dance Theater), musical theater (in LORT theaters), poets, (Sekou Sundiata), and church choirs as well as having written or co-written musicals that have been staged at the Gatehouse and Apollo Theaters. During Harper’s academic career he has received excellence in teaching awards from three different universities.
