    Requirements for the Arts in Context Concentration (BA The Arts)

    This concentration places responsibility upon students to articulate their own academic interests and goals. Before declaring this concentration, interested students should meet with the Departmental Faculty Advisors of both Arts in Context and the Arts discipline they would like to study. Only specific courses satisfy the major requirements, including electives.     Introductory courses:

    • Choose one (3-4 credits): 
      • One 3-4 credit Interarts (LINA) course
      • Two 2-credit LINA courses

    Other required courses:

    • 5 courses in one of the Arts disciplines (Contemporary Music, Contemporary Dance, Theater, or Visual Studies) (30-40 credits)
    • 5 courses in a liberal arts area of study (15-20 credits)

    Senior Capstone: 

    • Choose one (3-4 credits)
      • LINA 4900 Interarts (LINA) Senior Seminar Capstone (3-4 credits)
      • LINA 4990: an approved independent or collaborative project (3-4 credits)

    Total credits: 36-48
